You can certainly work on a Mac trackpad. Zoom, orbit and pan. No problem. I have not used a mouse the last 15 years

@Odd_Haakon_Byberg Are you kidding? Technically, you can, but there is a HUGE difference between zooming, panning and orbiting on a trackpad with intuitive gestures and without them. It’s like night and day! Try using the gestures in Fusion 360 or even in SketchUp Web and feel the difference yourself.

You get used to the gestures. They work fine.
If they got somewhat simplyfied i would not protest though.
@Odd_Haakon_Byberg What gestures are you referring to? I think you might be mistaken. Currently, there are no trackpad gestures at all on the desktop version of SketchUp Pro. They are only available on the web version, which is very functionally limited compared to the Pro version.
@rtches I feel sorry for you. It must be very tedious to use this outdated and unintuitive navigation system on a trackpad for essential and frequently used operations like panning, orbiting, and zooming.
Don’t feel bad. I still have the 5 fingers of my hand. Moreover, my trackpad is the equivalent size of 4 trackpad of many laptops.
