3D warehouse won't open

Hi, I have been using sketchup pro for many years and it’s been working fine…ish. However I currently can not load any models of the 3D warehouse!! It opens up fine but it won’t load any models, occasionally it loads a signle model (some kind of random house) and it appears to be created by Czeck person and the launguage changes to czeck too…I have tried all the obvious troubleshootings such as updating my system, clearing t
hrought bugs etc but it still won’t work, it is causing me a problems at work, could you please advice. Many thanks

If you are still using SketchUp 2015 as indicated in your profile, you won’t be able to open components or models from the 3D Warehouse. The Warehouse only supports the most recent three versions so now that would be 2017, 2018, and 2019. You could download the Collada file and import the .dae file into SketchUp but the best solution at this point would be to upgrade to the current version of SketchUp.

Thank you for your response. I see. I remember having a conversation with someone from the sketchup team before, however I didn’t pay too much attention to it as I only just become a mum at that time and it totally slipped my mind to upgrade. I also didn’t released at the time that it would disfunction my licence!! I’m happy to upgrade, how can I do that?

You can upgrade by going to SketchUp.com and downloading SketchUp 2019 from the Products page. Did you purchase your previous license through a reseller? If so, contact them for your upgrade license. If you got your license direct from SketchUp, you should be able to buy the new license the same way. If the last version you licensed was 2015, you may be basically starting from new with the license. There are two license options; Classic which gives you a perpetual license to SketchUp 2019 and Subscription, which is an annually renewed license with SketchUp 2019, Sketchup Shop, and some other cool stuff. Thanks for the info, I have purchased the licence directly from sketchup and paid circa £550 for it, so you’re saying that i need to purchase an entire new licence!! wot about the upgrade only, this doesn’t seems right to me!!

So you paid for the SketchUp 2015 Pro license four or four and half years ago? That got you the license for that version. If you had paid the annual Maintenance and Support when it came due a year after your initial purchase you would have been able to upgrade to SketchUp 2016 Pro. And if you’d continued keeping the Maintenance and Support up to date, you would have been able to upgrade to each successive major release.

It sounds like you allowed your Maintenance and Support to expire, though. They have a grace period for a couple of versions but I think you’ve gone beyond that. You can check to see exactly what the status is for your license and Maintenance and Support here.
