Hi All, I need to buy a new Laptop. I can’t find one with a GPU with 32GB of memory. Most seem to come with 6GB as standard.
Has anybody used SU2025 PBR with this config? Does it work?
The 32GB recommendation is possibly a typo.
I have tested the new environment and PBR materials on Geforce MX250 2GB in my ultrabook and it worked.

it is.
you don’t need a 5K € GPU.
it’s working on lower end machines that have an integrated GPU. a machine with 6GB VRAM will be fine, it would even be fine with advances rendering engines

I hope so but if it is, it’s a pretty poor typo on such an important page.

From SketchUp requirements * A modern GPU with at least 8GB VRAM. SketchUp’s classic renderer requires OpenGL 3.1 support. SketchUp’s performance relies on your graphics card driver and its ability to support OpenGL 3.1 or higher.
Most forum members highly suggest 32GB for system RAM.

This is going to be edited at some point, to distinguish between recommended and high end. I’m not sure where we ended up for recommended, but I imagine it will be 8 or 16GB.

It wasn’t a typo, the figure was put in for the highest end requirement. Most people won’t have that much Vram, and so the specs need to give a figure that is enough for most uses of PBR materials and environments, and not only give the very high end value.

Twinmotion high end is a minimum of 12GB and includes path tracing. There must be some huge models to require 32GB.
My tiny laptop arrives tomorrow so I will have a play and report back.
