Workspace/environment manager

Hi Sketchup Team,
Not sure if I have out this request in the right forum.
But here goes
Now you are showing more and more ways to enhance Sketchup by using plugins that extend the capabilities when working with Sketchup
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to add a feature called Workspace which would allow you to setup different workspaces for by enabling or disabling extensions before you open a new project/Sketchup file.
Much the same as the templates you could have an architect workspace/environment or an mechanical workspaces/environment that actives the preselected extensions

An option to save different workspaces/environments would be great
Allow users to maximise the screen real estate and optimising their workflow by removing unnecessary tool palettes

This could become a new way to work with templates going forward

I hope that makes sense

Cheers
Pat

hello, you might be interested in Fredo Lord Of The Toolbar (LOTT)

But I agree, it would be nice having it integrated in future updates

Agreed. i sometimes switch between modeling and render workflows and only show necessary toolbars/icons as needed while working with them. I’m imagining at min., a series of customizable toolbars that can be toggled on and off via shortcut keys.

I keep asking for this over and over. In particular, using a laptop on my desktop with an external monitor means having dual displays at my desk, and one when I travel. Going back and forth is a ROYAL pain, and it’s particularly bad when I’m late for a meeting and rushing to leave.

Given that SU ALREADY saves window and palette locations when you quit so as to restore them when you relaunch, this isn’t a big ask.

I have wondered what the impact is to a “fully loaded” Sketchup session. As an example if your not rendering a particular model does Vray impact speed by being loaded when you boot up a Sketchup session? I suppose the same is said for Plug ins and Extensions. Is there a speed advantage to a streamlined Sketchup session?
