Will kml files or Extensions work in Sketchup 2017?

Hi,
I’ve been using Sketchup 8, the old version, so that I can import kml location into Sketchup. In version 8, there’s an extension that allows for installing the kml extension but I cannot find that in Sketchup 2017. I prefer the newer version of Sketchup and is it possible to install this extension in later versions of Sketchup?

There’s no facility for importing Google Earth terrain into SketchUp as of a few years ago. Due to changes Google made to their terms of use, their terrain and image data can no longer be used in SketchUp.
