Why does no one like my other models on 3d Warehouse?

I seems like get a daily “like” on a stupid shower I did 4 years ago. But I have super elaborate models showing full framing details on a bunch of different houses and additions. I don’t understand why the stupid shower gets liked so much?

It’s frustrating when your favorite work doesn’t get the attention you feel it deserves, but it might come down to accessibility. Simple models, like your shower, are easy for a wide range of users to download and use quickly. On the other hand, highly detailed models often appeal to a niche audience that values that level of complexity.

You could also try optimizing your detailed models with clearer thumbnails or descriptions to draw in the right audience. Sometimes, it’s not about the quantity of likes but knowing that the right people are using and appreciating your work!

I just think its odd. (Like i had my other models set to private or somthing)

Can’t find any of you models in 3D warehouse…

searched on your username and your formal name

post a link if you want people to help

It could be as @indie3d has suggested that highly detailed models often appeal only to those who appreciate the complexity.

However, I have always been a sucker for detail, and actually had to learn which details to go for and which ones to let go in an attempt to accomplish what I wanted. But I still go all out, working a model until file size stops me. Most of my models are quite detailed, elaborate. I’ve been doing that almsot from the beginning. And I too have noticed that most of the “Likes” I have gotten over the past 3 to 5 years have been for my older models with all their mistakes and issues.

I have also thought this seeming trend to be odd - especially since nearly ALL those clikking the “Like” on my old models, don’t have any content of their own creation in the Warehouse.

I have to me honest i don’t think I have ever hit “like” on any platform ever.

Most people go to the warehouse for things to fill their own models, so it’s not that surprising that they are not looking for complete houses…

Thanks to @pcmoor I found your good looking model of a shower recess.

As to the number of likes well there might be a number of reasons for none showing up :-

  • bad luck
  • people are lazy
  • your model is very specialised (small market)
  • the purpose of your model is not known (education, construction, rendering etc)
  • the file size is large…
  • Imperial units ? (95% of the world is metric  )

So my suggestion is to add to the description explaining why you think this may be useful to others… eg this is a high poly model useful for realistic renders… this is an efficient low poly model for repetitive use in construction drawing… this is a generic model for space planning to meet code requirements… etc etc let people know is it metric or imperial unit design… tweeking a model from imperial to metric or metric to imperial can be painful,

PS: I gave you a like  and copied your tile textures into my materials library… thanks…

Also I often use these Goldilocks extensions to review the efficiency of the materials and model complexity used in a file… see image
