Is there a text tool somewhere? I can’t seem to find it.
Under the Tools menu tab you will find both the 3D Text and Text tools
Look in the ‘Construction’ tool bar:

Unfortunately, font support in a web browser is much more complex than you’d expect it to be. We’re still working on it. I recognize that this is an important feature for SketchUp for Schools.
