Maybe. The people who know aren’t allowed to divulge that information until the day of the release. Same as every previous release.
The only ones who know, can’t talk about it. So everyone here either doesn’t know the answer, or won’t say..
FINALLY
I was waiting for someone to ask the big question, like every year. to use a variant of my usual joke
well Fennec, I can tell you this, very much like last year, it has a 20% chance of being on a tuesday. and - stay with me on this - I’m pretty sure it will be released in a month that ends on “-ber”. (yes, even januaber)
I can also tell you that some people will notice it, then some other will get a notification, then you’ll get an email telling you about it.
and there are good chances that you’ll see threads of people complaining about something even before the official announcement. they always find something ![]()
can’t wait to see all the funky bugs they’ll give us this year. ![]()
edit : I should have been a prophet.
It’s never too late! Get started now and you could be completely setup with profityzing your life by Ferbruaber or Marchber.
I’ll shoot for Februaber… better to guess over than under so I can be pleasantly surprised it it happens sooner, ![]()
Here’s hoping for new PBR materials like emissive! (They ain’t gonna be that generous, you know this man… stop foolin’ yourself!)
I remember 2024, the despair in the eyes of people coming to the forum like “please sir, can I have a new sketchup, I’ve been a good kid this year, and it’s already marchember, and still nothing”

Funny you should mention that, I’ve started a new business that combines trampolines with prayer rugs, prophets are through the roof.
Speaking of the year, I don’t think SketchUp really needs a year next to its name anymore. Technology is moving too fast for yearly releases. I’d rather see SketchUp simply update itself every few months and continuously evolve instead of waiting for the next year’s version.
It’s my favourite time of the year.
new Releases
MacOS crashes
complaints about interfaces changes
“where is _____ feature?”
I’ve been using SketchUp for 40 years
It’s not compatible with windows 10?!
It’s not the same as google.
Maybe I’ll just use blender

I put my money on a lot of complaints from Mac users, not me though.
Don’t forget price increase complaints and requests for a return to perpetual licenses!
That would be awesome, I still have my 2018 license, I used to upgrade obviously paying, but 2018 was a bad year and I didn’t upgrade until 2018 where I got involved with the subscription license, I didn’t want to spend more for a software that wouldn’t revive support after a couple years and will made me go with the subscription license anyways. I loved the reduced price for upgrading if you owned a perpetual license. Anyways I don’t think it will return, subscription licensees are the golden egg geese, there are almost no bug companies who still sell perpetual licenses, QCad pro sells them and if you renew your license 30 days after the license expires you get a 50% discount on an already cheap software.
Do you ever hear the snails whiz by.
yeah, I got dumped by Sarah. awful year.
I’m surprised, the latest mac os has been out for a week, we didn’t get the classic “is sketchup compatible?” thread.
and it seems that sketchup performs fine, no major crash ? can’t wait for 2027 to change all that. ![]()
If only that was true and it did run on a Commodore 64. I’d be ordering one for Christmas ![]()
It’s gonna be a bloodbath.
