The majority of tutorial have been made for the Desktop version, simply because people have been making tutorials for it for over 20 years. The Web version, which we assume you are using, it’s not always clear because people often put Sketchup for schools in their profile and then actually use another version, is fairly recent and the tutorials are less easy to find.
That being said, the principles are the same, just the layout of the tools is different. However, the web version has the magnifying glass icon at the top of the left toolbar, type into this and it will find the tool you want. So if a tutorial is showing something you can’t find, type a relevant word or two and it will give you various options.
The quickest way to learn the basics is to find an actual user to sit with you and run through the fundamentals, a few hours like that and you’ll understand what you are doing.
But without those basics it is very difficult for us to point you in the right direction.
