What do you listen to when SketchUping?

It’s so hard to find true silence that drowning out the background racket with decent music is a reasonable alternative.

I guess the setting matters. When I was in grad school in one big studio space with dozens of others, I needed headphones and music to zone everything out and concentrate. Same when I was in a big office with cubicles. On my own in a home office I guess I haven’t had as much of a need, … EXCEPT WHEN MY NEIGHBOR’S LAWN SERVICE SHOWS UP WITH ZERO TURN MOWERS AND GAS POWERED LEAF BLOWERS!!

So maybe if I want my mojo back, I need to go back to the music. You never know what you’re going to learn for tips and tricks on this forum.

The problem with silence is it’s always punctuated by noises.

Amon Amarth?

I listen to all sorts of Metal & Industrial but earlier this year, I was randomly listening to a Spotify ‘For You’ playlist and discovered the gothic metal/death-doom band called Draconian. I remember being immediately captivated by the voice of their (sadly, now former) female singer Heike Langhans, and have probably listened to them far more this year than anyone else. I’ve also listened to all her side projects which are great in their own right (Remina / ISON / Light Field Reverie etc…)

Here’s the album which got me started on them, for anyone that is interested:
