Hi! This is Nathan Schroeder, somewhat new user of SketchUp on the Web, using it on my Mac for a few years. I’m a theatrical lighting designer and general support person at two churches; I’ve used SketchUp to show some ideas both for theater and for church renovations/improvements.

My name is Anthony Baker.
I am not part of an industry or profession yet.
I am using SketchUp for CAD classes in College.
I am using SKetchUp because AutoCAD is too difficult for beginners to create 3D models/renderings, I love the easy of use and frendliness of SKetchUp.
I am a beginner. I just downloaded and started using SketchUp 2 days ago.
No I have not gone to SketchUp 3DBasecamp. I did not know one exsisted.
My current setup is: Alienware 17 R4 Gaming Laptop running Windows 10 64 bit, 16 GB ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB ram; I have SketchUp Sudio for Students.
No I do not have a 3D warehouse. I am still new and learning the ropes.
I am a retired U.S. Navy vet, served 20 year and now I am giong to college for Architectual Design.
I have no real favorite emoji.
When ever I take long walks on the beach I endup crashing and pulled down to Davey Jones Locker, where I meet King Neptune, who is always giving me a nasty stern look, then orders me back to the beach stating “You time of being a landwalker is not over yet my young SHELLBACK!” I guess being part ofteh SOlemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of teh Deep may have its benefits after all.

Hi - New to the community, and relatively new to Sketchup. My name is Graham (Grum came from a French colleague who couldn’t pronounce my name properly, and has kind of stuck with me). I live in Sydney, Australia though originally from the UK. Getting more into woodworking as a hobby now my children have grown up and have homes of their own, and am to get handy enough with Sketchup to reach for it for my designs, rather than paper and pencil.
Looking forward to learning from you all.

Hi, All.
I’m Doug. I’m a small shop owner in Springville, UT.
It says I should upload a photo of myself. I’d love to, but after searching this forum for 30 minutes, I still have no idea how.

A photo here isn’t critical, most people don’t.
But there is an Icon at the top of the reply window with an arrow pointing up, this is the upload button, or you can simply drag and drop images and files directly into the reply.

Thank you. I finely figured it out. lol

Hi all
I am David, I have been using Sketchup for about 7 years with in architectural companies for concept design visuals and planning elevations. I find Sketchup really good for specialist details and am keen to use Sketchup as a start to finish tool so learning to get better with LayOut and working methods.
I use Thea Render I prefer it a bit more than Vray but there are swings and roundabouts.

Hello. I’m Joe (short for José). I’m an architect of the old school who got enamored with Autocad (50+ years) ago. I’m also a Preservationist. Here in the States (America) preservationist is used instead of conservationist, like in Europe. The
movement to save land, animals, birds was developed first so the only word available was preservationist. More soon.

Hi I’m Neil from th UK but for some reason, and I don’t know why, the wife calls me Ed, hence the user name.
I came across Sketchup back in 2016 and dabbled with it as I’d just got a 3D printer but due to a number of reasons it and my new found hobby sat idle for four years which, I guess, makes me an absolute beginner !!!
My main use is to design bits & pieces for things I want or need around the house that I can 3D print.
I suspect that my fustratrions with using Sketchup are caused by the fact that I want to do more than my knowledge of the software allows so everything seems to take much longer than it should.

Hello, my name is Cameron.

I’ve been using SketchUp since 2014, although I haven’t decided to make a presence on Trimble’s internet services until now. Here I am!

Out side of me liking trains, there isn’t a whole lot else to know about me, and that’s about it. :grinning:

James Sobek (a.k.a. Jim). I live and work in the Indianapolis, Indiana, USA area. I am a physicist/engineer working in the forensic engineering field.

I use SketchUp because it is more intuitive than other drawing/drafting packages that I have used.

I am still a Newbie, but getting better quickly.

I’m working on a Microsoft Surface Pro 5 with Windows 10 64 bit.

I wish that I had had SketchUp back in 1986 when I was designing and building a two level deck with brick planter. About 2 weeks ago, I built that model from memory in this version of SketchUp. How can I post that model? I’m pretty proud of it.

@wolftd, You can start a new thread in the gallery section and post pictures of your creation. Or upload the whole model if it isn’t larger than 3Mb.

Am Terence SU user from East Africa.
Kindly need a help on how to curve smooth and resemble the shape as shown in the picture. Am sending the SKP file. ThanksHelp Curve.skp (338.7 KB)

Welcome Terence, Maybe we can move this another thread. You can post a topic just for this or search for other “curved ramp” or " curved sloped wall" subjects. Please update your profile with the version of SketchUp you are using, because the answer will be different depending on the version.

Hello all,
I am an ex-draftsman/designer in electomechanical military contracts field. 40 years ago I quit to become a truck driver and recently took and certified a bookkeeping course. I am retired and trying to start a business. I love working in the design world and some 20 + years ago bought and taught myself AutoCad LT in Windows 98. I lost the use of that program when I transitioned over to Mac. But I still want to have my fingers in cad software.
