So I am currently testing the product before making the switch to it, so please excuse my lack knowledge with the program. So I do Landscape Design, mainly CAD or at least scaled drawings, but i just attempted to open one of my current projects and the file is PDF but it keeps telling me “This does not appear to be a
SketchUp Model!” Can someone please tell me what I need to do to this file to get it to upload?
Instead of opening a PDF with SketchUp, create a new document and import the PDF. (File → Import)
This only works on the Mac version of SketchUp. For the PC, you would have to convert the PDF into a raster image or CAD /dxf or dwg) before importing. This can be done in Illustrator or Inkscape, for instance.
You can’t put diesel in a gas car… well, you can, but it probably isn’t good for the engine.
With the pro version you can import a PDF on Mac and / or DXF, DWG, etc. on both platforms. But you need to create a new model, then import these files. SketchUp opens .skp files.
Maybe start at learn.sketchup.com with the fundamentals course.
And maybe complete your profile.
Which SketchUp version?
2024 is not an operating system. Is it Windows or Mac OS? If so, which version?
I don’t know is not a valid name for a graphic card. This info is pretty easy to find.
