I have problems using union solid in Sketchup 2025, when I use the command union sometimes the model disappear, other do not but the lines between two solids does not disappear. I think the command acts with errors.
I would appreciate if someone has problems like I have.

The line does not disappear in Sketchup 2025, that is the problem. (See Image )
I use Sketchup 2024 and I do not have any problem. (See Image)
But also I had a problem that the entire model disappeared, that is why I think tha the command is acting sometimes erratically.

different materials.
if you use the same material in both, the line disappears. if you have different materials (at least in 25) the line remains so the materials keep their integrity.
(I just tried, 2 colours, line. same colour, no line.)
That makes sense. If the solids have overlapping coplanar faces and those faces have different materials, one of the materials would have to be removed if the edge(s) between the faces were deleted by the union. There is no reliable way to decide which to keep!
The problem is that SK2025 does not join the plane (Second Image), if you see the images, SK2024 join the plane (First Image), but SK2025 does not.
I see the remaining edges after union. I’ve seen it in SU2024, too. Not sure where the issue lies the unneeded edges are quicky removed with CleanUp3. A keyboard shortcut for CleanUp3 helps.
