So, I am working in Sketchup 2025 but a collaborator is working in SketchUp 2023 version. I am seeing that I cannot save down because SketchUp got rid of the save as to older versions in 2024. Does anyone have a reliable and trustworthy extension to accomplish this with? I googled but one that came up “save as older version” did not appear in the SketchUp warehouse.
Thank you. I had found that one in the meantime and when I tried to run it on my computer my computer gave me a screen that seemed questionable. I don’t want to risk a crappy program on my computer. Have you used this?
Since the release of SketchUp 2021, .skp files created in newer versions will open in versions back to 2021. No need to back save at all. Your 2025 file will open in 2023. You don’t need any extension to do this.
Did you send him the skp file? Is he using a cr acked version of SketchUp 2023? How large is the file? How are you sending it?
If you are sending the correct file and he’s using a legit subscription he should be able to open your file. The only thing would be that he wouldn’t get things like ambient occlusion since that wasn’t available in 2023.
If he has a legit subscription he could update to the current version. So could you.
oh man, that must be it: his version is perhaps not legit because mine is. And I am just taking a saved version of the file and sending that .skp file.
