Unable to open Project with error "This does not appear to be a Sketchup model!"

Unable to open Sketchup file (using 2024) version

I already tried renaming .skb to .skp - No Luck

File was stored on local drove and not network drive - No Luck

Can someone help me recover this file?

so, the skp is empty, just empty bits.

the skb is mostly empty. like 90%

nothing to recover there…

Thanks for the quick reply @ateliernab, any idea what could be the reason for this so that I can prevent this in the future?

Did you have a power interruption whiel you were working? Is it a cr acked version of SketchUp 2024? Did you have any other memory intensive applications running at the time?

@DaveR I could think of two possibilities from what you have listed.. Power interruption or Memory intensive application(lumion) running at same time
