Trying to Recreate a diamond brick pattern

Hi, I’m looking to recreate this brick pattern shown below. Currently attempting to create a grid like trim pattern using lines and divide then rotating the grid 45 degrees to get that popout diamond trim effect. But I thought I’d ask here to see if there’s a smarter and more convenient way to go about it.

As an idea

I should have added scaling, but at the time it seemed obvious (if needed).

  • Create the flat wall as usual and apply the base brick texture.
  • Create 1 ‘stick’ of bricks about 3000mm long(doesn’t really matter at this point) if you’re in the UK you’d make it 65mm tall.
  • Apply the brick end texture so it repeats along the stick.
  • Make the stick a group.
  • Copy the stick and rotate it TO THE ROOF ANGLE, in the photo it’s NOT 45deg.
  • Copy the original stick and rotate it to the opposite roof angle.
  • Copy the 2 sticks at whatever frequency you want to get the grid.
  • Trim the ends longer/shorter to suit the elevation.
  • Done
