A lot of the materials are excessively large even for rendering. And there are plenty of textures that could easily be either replaced with simple colors or removed altogether. Do you really need a hi res texture for a slice of toast?
Actually the largest one is not embedded. There’s another file that is embedded. Interestingly there’s a third .skp file listed in the file but it doesn’t show in the references. That could cause a problem. I’ll see if I can clean it up a bit.
FWIW I went through the two .skp files to check for other possible issues. I noticed incorrect tag usage. This the 3D rdc Chloe file.
The one called 3D v2 has the same issue.
It also contains a lot of unused stuff.
Cleaning up the files reduced the file size dramatically which has a carry-on benefit in LO.
I reduced the textures some. Most of them are used on very small objects in the model. The total reduction in LO file size is about 40%.
Another thing to keep in mind is if the SketchUp file size is too large, copying and pasting viewports will leave you with images of the model and not actual viewports. There’s a thread on this topic here somewhere. I’ll see if I can find the thread.
Keeping your SketchUp files under control will help prevent issues. Also make sure you are manually saving the file to an internal drive on your computer.
Edit to add: Here’s a link to the thread.
