Over the last few weeks we’ve rolled out two Undet for SketchUp updates (26.2 and 26.3), and together they bring quite a lot of new stuff for anyone modelling as-builts from point clouds inside SketchUp. Here’s a combined overview.
Transparency (X-ray) mode is back!
As many long-time users know, when SketchUp moved to its new graphics engine, the point cloud transparency / X-ray mode was no longer available – and we know how much some of you missed it. Good news: we’ve managed to bring it back. Wall lines and edges stand out clearly in the point cloud again, so tracing geometry and modelling with confidence is back on the menu.
If you’ve been holding on to SketchUp 2024 just for this feature – now you can safely upgrade to the latest SketchUp 2026 and keep your X-ray workflow.
3P Wall (new)
Draw a wall with three clicks: two points set the line, the third sets the width. Chain mode lets you keep going from wall to wall, so a whole floor plan comes together without stopping to type dimensions.
Fit Wall (new)
You know that fiddly moment when walls meet and you’re left cleaning up corners? Fit Wall joins walls with L and T connections automatically – trimming and extending them so junctions close nicely, no gaps, no overlaps.
Cut Opening (new)
Openings in three clicks: first point sets the plane, next two set the diagonal. You can place them from the wall corner or edge, so they end up exactly where the scan says they should be.
Dynamic Doors & Windows (new + improved insertion)
Place doors and windows that adjust to the actual opening you scanned – resize either one and the wall opening updates automatically. You can now insert them from the wall corner or edge and snap them to the scanned opening, so the model ends up matching the building as it really stands, not as the drawings wish it did. 
SLAM & mobile mapping data
Undet now handles SLAM and mobile mapping scans, bringing 360° panorama positions and the Sync Browser into SketchUp. If a spot in your point cloud is unclear, click it and view it from the scanner’s own position.
Also in these releases: a refreshed toolbar with sharper icons, and a simpler licensing system – no more SITE/MID codes, everything is managed at license.undet.com.
