Been visiting the Discord and have to say a big thanks to the Sketchup crew for the changes to the channel. Looks so much better and there is no nutty-ness. Thanks!!

Just an update…seems like the Discord server is running off the cliff again into adult hell.
Do you all know that with just bit of administrator creativity that you can make Discord users admins and give them ban and block privileges. There are a few that frequent that channel. Would be glad to help out.
As it is, users are now getting an ear/eye full of content you wouldn’t let your children look at.
Yup, that place has been a dumpster fire for a while, they sometimes have a lightbulb moment and clean it up, but its only a matter of time before they forget it exists and it gets filled with spam, I have reccomended multiple times that they merge with the Unofficial SketchUp server that I am a moderator in, but they say they will think about it and then ignore me, when I am offering them to direct users to a server that has proper structure and moderation instead of a free for all mess. Take of this what you want, but all I see is that SketchUp only cares about customers money, and once they have received their money, they proceed to not give a toss about support.
Here is the link to the Unofficial server that has enough active mods to never have any issues for anyone looking for a civilized server.
It would seem that assessment is spot on.

Oh and by the way, I am the one that started this thread, just somehow happen to have two forum accounts.
I gave up on that place right after it started.
I remember I saw a thread here about the sketchup discord channel, it was managed by Jody, some of you know already that Jody isn’t working for Trimble anymore, so…
Sure Jody might no longer be with trimble, but its not a big ask to even just have one person check it once a week for a billion dollar company like trimble, none of this is an attack towards Jody, but towards trimble at being absolutely useless at support whatsoever.
Facts.
But really useless at understanding Discord and getting community involved that is trying to use the platform. Discord works best with active Moderators just like this forum. Trimble or Sketchup need to empower their community to Mod the space. Right now it’s just on a list for posting new video content.

Posting again. The Discord server is officially a dumpster fire in the truest sense of the word. You all should honestly either be ashamed of yourselves for not caring about legit users trying to find a community on that platform in a server you all started or you should just admit defeat and shut it down.
What a mess…is there no one that cares a whit in Wheatridge?
