I am using SketchUp for building an off-grid home, solar panel installation, garage, etc.
It would be really helpful if I could have SketchUp display dimensions in inches, no feet/inches.
When I measure the length of a board and SketchUp tells me it is 2’ 8" 5/16, that doesn’t help me when using a tape measure. Any carpenter would report the measurement as 32 5/16". So every time I use the measure tool to get dimensions from my design before cutting the wood, I have to convert from feet-inches to just inches. Not hard, but an extra step.
I know I can set the dimensions to be just inches with decimals, i.e. 32.3125", but then I don’t get the 1/16" fractions that I use on my tape measure.
