Texture on a curved surface

Hello,

How can I apply an image texture to a curved surface without stretching or reapplying for each facet that makes up that curved surface?

I’m trying to make a curved stone wall. I have a jpg of stacked stone which applies fine to a flat surface. But if I apply it to a curved surface, each facet that makes up that curved surface has the texture image independently, i.e. the texture isn’t continuous from one facet to another.

In the second example, I right-clicked on one of the facets, enabled “texture > projected” in the context menu. Sampling that facet and applying that to the rest of the curved surface results in a continuity from facet to facet, but it doesn’t drape, it stretches like you’d expect a projection from a slide projector to do.

That seems to be the ticket. Thanks!

Don’t use SU without Profile Builder, thrupaint won’t help on horizontal planes (in your example) without additional messing

Try the free plugin SketchUV.

Thanks everyone for the quick and helpful replies! I’ll look into profile builder and SketchUV. And Mihai, I really appreciate the custom instructional video!
