Taper Maker extension

Good morning.

There seems very little really decent (for simpletons like me) tutorial informaiton on Taper Maker out there. I am attaching a file showing what I want to achieve - which strikes me as being pretty straightforward - and that is to to taper an octagon with 2" equal sides through the central path to an octagon with 1" equal sides yet both I and John McClenahan can’t figure out how to make it work.

I’d be most grateful if someone could help. The only other way I’ve tried to achieve what I want to do is to draw individual tangential arcs from one point to the other; but that’s so , so hard.

Many thanks for that demonstration. I shall try it. When you open Taper Maker, what is this ‘Options’ box that comes up? There is no explanation about that anywhere (as far as I can see).

From memory typing o in that box will create ‘offsets’ rather than an extrusion. So with your setup it would produce paths at the vertices or midpoints, I can’t remember which and I’m not near my pc to check.
