Tape Measure Not Making Guidelines from 2 Edges

Hexagon B Apr 4.skp (191.4 KB)
Hello,

See the attached image. I am able to make guidelines from 4 sides of the hexagon. I cannot make guidelines from the other 2 edges.

What’s wrong?

Try not to start your guideline from the mid point.

No, that solution did not work.

I’ve probably used this feature in a hexagon a thousand times. I’ve never had this problem.

Could I accidentally have bumped a keyboard key and turned some feature off or on?

Again, here’s the SKP file:

Even from midpoints would create guidelines.
I suspect that both straight sides are divided edges: i.e. there is an endpoint where @Peter-7 starts/tries to create a guide.

The edge looks hidden to me.

Yes! That is it. I rarely hide edges…

@Peter-7 - you need to keep geometry on Untagged, otherwise you get this issue (and many others).

Please expand on " need to keep geometry on Untagged". I don’t understand you.

Do not tag lines and planes. Only tag groups and components. It is a golden rule in SketchUp.

You are not getting the result you want because some of your lines are assigned a tag that was turned off.
