I think I may have it working. I used the red protractor - still unclear why I can’t get black but it seems to work. I still can’t believe it took less than a minute for someone to do ALL of the steps after spending so much time unsuccessfully! Learned a lot from this one…like, how little I know!
When using the rotate tool you can click and drag to set the axis of rotation. In the vid you see him click on one endpoint, drag to the other endpoint, and release to set that as the black axis of rotation.
I feel like I’m close but still missing something…I divided the bottom line. Then I highlighted the arc. I opened the rotate tool and clicked on one endpoint. without letting go dragged it to the other endpoint so the protractor remained black. Moved the curser to the center. Clicked.
I could get it to work when I copied the position of the lines and rectangle in the example. But if I tried to do it on a vertical face for example, and not horizontal, i couldn’t get it to work. Wherever I moved the mouse it basically distorts the face and adds connecting lines between the left and right sides which then mess it up. I’m confused…
There comes a time when we stop responding with guesses.
I’m sorry, what tools ? Because these are not default in sketchup pro ![]()
