Sky commercial film set renders

Here’s some renders (Podium) from a job for Sky last year. I also made a walkthrough/animation of the set which is on my website where you’ll also find links to the commercial.

Production design, Nick Foley Oats, directed by Traktor for Stink.

I made a lot of the props myself but also used plenty from the 3d warehouse.

Great work :+1:

Nice to see how Sketchup can be used for such a wide range of things.

I’ve seen those Andrew Garfield commercials and never even thought about the set design process

It was a lovely job and they’re really pedantic which is always great for me (more days!) great team and I got to model up another train (my 4th). I’ll post a couple of renders :slightly_smiling_face:

Amazing level of detail. Do you design the sets or do you get a brief to create the renders?

I’m instructed by the production designer (in this case Nick Foley Oats).

On this job the initial model of the basic set already existed. It was beautifully made by the art director Kate McConnell.

I take the model over. I furnish, dress, light, apply all the textures and scenes to produce renders and animations.
The set decorators find actual props that they’re going to be using on the set so I model up all their options and everyone can see what’s being proposed. There’s a lot of back and forth, lots of options, lots of meeting, lots of people involved in the decisions. But by the time they need to, everyone is pretty clear about how the set is going to be.
