.skp file crashed and became a broken shortcut link

SKETCHUP crashed while I was working.

When I tried to re-open the file, it has turned into a shortcut linking back to itself and is broken.

I did a search for any AutoSave files and nothing came up.

Is there another way for me to retrieve my work?
