SketchUP V RAY

I want ask if I buy the SketchUp subscription, it will come with V ray or I will need to subscribe the V ray stand alone?

SketchUp subscription is just that, so no V-ray. The SketchUp Studio subscription includes V-ray and Scan Essentials, but if you don’t need the latter, it is cheaper to subscribe to SketchUp and V-ray separately.

hello Anssi,
im planning to renew my sketchup plan, and im using V ray rendering, if I buy sketchup studio package does it include v ray rendering and 3D ready objects library?

yes, sketchup studio contains vray for sketchup. it’s also slightly cheaper than getting vray on the side, and it comes with revit importer and scan essential.

thank you for your reply… does it come with 3D ready furniture as well

in Vray ?
it comes with the cosmos thingy, materials, trees… so I assume some furniture too ?
I don’t use it, couldn’t tell you exactly what content comes within.

@eric-s might know better

edit : you can always use the 7-days trial from their website to check all that’s included.

Yes. @ateliernab you are correct. V-Ray Cosmos comes with tons of great 3D models, including furniture, ready to render.
You should be able to browse them here - https://cosmos.chaos.com/ - even without a license.

Check out this sweet bathroom sink for example!

All Sketchup users can also use the free 3D Warehouse to look for 3D objects loaded there by users. The quality varies from superb to unusable.

I think the OP’s translation is off. The technical term is ‘Render-Ready’. Render-Ready, or V-Ray Ready implies there are PBR materials and/or lights embedded into the model, so no additional work should be needed to get it to look photo-realistic when rendered.

It is assumed, or should be that a 3D model in SketchUp, no matter the rendering extension, is inherently ‘3D-Ready’ from the get go. 3D Warehouse does have some ‘Render/V-Ray-Ready’ models but you have to make sure add those keywords to your search. As @Anssi states, it’s a crapshoot as to what you’ll find on the 3DW. Starting with Cosmos will always be your best bet with the idea that you can supplement from 3DW for some models, if you narrow down your search parameters.

Thank you very much Eric, I’m asking that cause I used to buy annual SketchUp PRO and lastly I bought V RAY for one month, now my SketchUp license is expired and I’m wondering if I should go with annual SketchUp STUDIO if its including V RAY and their 3d objects & materials or buy SketchUp PRO annual and buy V RAY annual?

So if i need to use v ray and i need to renew my sketchup account shall i go with sketchup pro or sketchup studio?
thanks…

well studio. like we said, studio is sketchup + vray. and you apparently need to use vray.

Thank you guys…… I really appreciate your help.

Hello ateliernab, sorry to bother you again, i bought the sketchup studio and install it, but i open an old file there is no V RAY tools!! is there any step i have to do to activate v ray within sketchup interface?
Thanks

What version of sketchup did you install? The 2025 installer gives you the option to download vray while you’re installing sketchup, you’ll have to install vray as well once it’s downloaded. Did you do that? Also did you install sketchup correctly? That means right clicking on the installer and choose run as administrator; if you haven’t, do that and choose the repair option. Install vray the same way.

well yes, it’s not installed by default. I have Studio but don’t have Vray on this machine.

you have to login to vray here

using your sketchup account.

from there, you can download and install Vray.

you’ll also find it in your profile when you log into sketchup.com
it’s under the “my product” section.
