SketchUp Spinner Design Competition!

Hey guys!

We are having a fairly short design competition. All you have to do is design a fidget spinner using SketchUp, and you could win a 3D Mouse (or possibly some beautiful SketchUp socks!).

To enter, all you have to do is design a spinner in SketchUp using this file as a template, then post it to 3D Warehouse using the tag SketchUpSpinner. You have until Midnight (MST) on June 28th to enter.

To win you need to submit a compelling (cool/interesting looking), 3D print ready (manifold design), working spinner using the bearing and weights in the template.

  • NOTE: When you post your entry to 3D Warehouse, make sure that your contact info is up-to-date in your profile, so we can contact you if you win!

Does the template already allow for the bearing and weights to fit into a design or should we add some “wiggle room”?

Can the design contain multiple 3D printed components?

A bearing is usually pressfit into an object.

@TheOnlyAaron, according to the wiki page, patents have been applied for.

Is there any advice for contestants on how NOT to violate patents ?
(Has Trimble Legal even approved this?)

Design to the shapes in the template (no wiggle room needed!
