Sketchup Pro to Bluebeam PDF not showing volumes

Hi, I believe the 3d PDF driver associated with BlueBeam is not able to extract the dimensional properties with the data that’s exported out. Seems that the export is just a pretty picture to rotate and zoom into. My point is that if BlueBeam can click and highlight the individual components, then why can it not show detailed properties of the same.

Box, I believe its a BB issue rather than SU

Ok, so I have deleted my last comment and it will disappear in 24 hours or so. It looks like it would be good if the rest of the thread went with it as it is pretty much unrelated to sketchup.

try if importing the SKP into the SimLab Composer and exporting the 3D PDF from there leads to the results desired. Might nead some overhauling of the volumes in there but could be a viable workflow though.

Thanks Sketchup3D_de. I will give it a try later and see if that’s viable.

What BlueBeam version are you using? It appears that there are issues based on so of my reading on line.I decided to try this and I cannot get BlueBeam and SketchUp to work at all. I am using 2017 Bluebeam extreme with SketchUp Pro. I have been corresponding with BlueBeam and so far they have not been able to fix the problem.
Did you solve this problem?

Hi, I am using BB extreme 2018.1. Seems like I can create 3D files out of Sketchup using the 3D BB Printer driver but it does not pull in the volume data.

Have you made sure to turn on the plugin under Bluebeam administrator tab?

Bluebeam got back to me saying this functionality is exclusive to Revit and we should suggest it to their webpage.

Once the plugin is turned on, open the Sketchup up file and a new tab should be installed at the top. If the plugin is turned on in Bluebeam the process should be instantaneous.

Found a work around to my problem. SketchUp 2018 does not seem to talk to Bluebeam 2017. If I open a model in SketchUp 2017 I was able to export!
I will look into the volume issue and let you know if I find a solution
