Sketchup Make 2017: add geolocation imports map only

Hi there,

I installed Sketchup Make 2017 this March (2020) and was able to add geolocation to my drawing including satellite image and terrain information.

Yesterday I tried the same, however, only a map was imported, without terrain data.

What changed between March and October 2020?

Thanks.

You started out with a 30-day trial of SketchUp 2017 Pro which included imagery and terrain data. That’s not available in SketchUp Make which is now what you are using.

Your 30-day trial of Pro expired.

I didn’t know about the lack of terrain and satellite imagery. Here’s a <7 minute video that goes over the other differences with Make:

This was announced in March of 2017.
