I used to have the desktop version of Sketchup. It was fast and worked perfectly.
The newer Web Browser version lags a while after each command. It is very confusing.
Is there any way I can return to the old Desktop version?

You can access the available downloads to SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Make here: Download All | SketchUp
Hi Caroline,
I did do that. It says it’s a 30 day trial. The Desktop Sketchup I had
before was free for personal home use.
The Make version starts with a Free Trial of Pro and will revert to Make after 30 days.
If you once had a desktop version for personal use, you might still have it. Take in mind that when you download and install it again, you choose the right version:
commercial | free for personal use | free for personal use | |
---|---|---|---|
2017 | SketchUp Pro 2017 (desktop) | SketchUp Make 2017 (desktop) | |
2018 | SketchUp Pro 2018 (desktop) | SketchUp Free (online) |
As the others explained, you can still download the free desktop version, SketchUp Make 2017, at the link provided. Keep in mind this is free for non-commercial use only.
OK. Thank you. Perhaps at the end of the 30 days Sketchup will remain
active and make and pro will go away.
I am not abusing the license as I am retired and do woodworking, for our
home, in my garage. I am accustomed to using Design CAD 3D but I find
Sketchup much easier to use.
Thanks Box. That’s what I’m hoping for.
