SketchUp Freezes

Pardon me for one more question.

I think there are two ways of saving the file on Ipad.

One- Autosave
Two- Touch the home button and return to homepage after saving.

Is there any way to save the file at my will while I am working, and keep the file open?

I think as the file gets heavy, it looks like more time is needed to save (and load as well).

I might want to go seamlessly without waiting for a while when the sketchup is autosaving all of sudden (unless I keep counting every 15 min or whatever the duration I set for the autosave while I concentrate on my work at the same time).

The team is working on improvements to save and autosave workflows along these lines, as we speak. Stay tuned…

Hi reviving this thread. I’m using SketchUp for iPad and it’s been continuously freezing and then shutting down. I turned off auto-save and checked my Apple Pencil settings, no luck. I’ve noticed it started happening when I access the materials library but now it shuts down within minutes of editing a file (~3MB).

Any ideas? Thanks! Jenn

Hi @jennifer.finan sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having.
Can you please share a bit more info about your iPad make/model, along with the SketchUp app version that you’re using?
The app version number can be found in the About tab (tap the little SketchUp icon in the bottom left corner of the Home screen). If the version number is not 6.0, I would recommend updating to the latest version via the App Store.

Hi Mike,

I think I’m as up-to-date as possible to v 6.1.0 and I’m on an iPad OS 15.7. Is there a best practice for connecting projects to save to the cloud account in Trimble? My suspicion is that the projects are being saved to my iPad and maybe that’s why there is limited space. Although I have 10GB free locally, I’m guessing that still could be a factor. Appreciate any other insight you may have!
Jenn

I’ll add also that I tried editing a file from Trimble Connect and it still quit a couple minutes into opening the project and moving objects around.
