Sketchup Free Web License Expired?

Hi,
All of a sudden, my sketchup free license seems to have expired. I received no notification about this and didn’t realize there was a time limit. I am using this personally for my own kitchen design. How can I renew the free license? Thanks,
Justin

I assume you are talking about the free trial of desktop SketchUp Pro, as there is no subscription needed for the free web version and no free version of Pro. To continue with desktop version you must buy a subscription.

I am talking about the free web version. When I log into my account (and yes I verified I am using the correct account) I can no longer access any of my drawings. As shown in the picture, it appears my license has expired with no way to renew the free web version.

Perhaps @colin can investigate and see what is going on. But I repeat, there is no subscription for the free web version.

Seems I was able to workaround by clearing cookies and going back into start a free trial and then logging back into my account from the free trial window. I’m able to find my stuff in trimble connect using this method but it still seems to show expired license and no ability to directly access products…

I have the same problem. No notice I saw either. I’ve been using “sketchup free” forever. I used it back when it was a desktop app…like 16+ years. I would love to know what changed!

OH…also the date it expired was same as yours…2/9/25…very sus. Seems like they don’t want us to have a free version or they made a technical change that broke the web version license.

Hi everyone, there is no need to access your Free subscription from the Account Management Portal. Even if it appears as expired that doesn’t actually mean you have lost access. You can access the Free web app directly at app.sketchup.com with your usual sign in. If you don’t see your recent files on the Home page, just know that this list can get cleared just like your browsing history. All of your files can be found under the Trimble Connect tab on the left.

Thanks. This is effectively what I figured out but for those of us that have always logged in through Sketchup’s main page for years, it is a bit confusing that this has changed all of a sudden and there is literally no way to get to the app page from the Sketchup login. Further, there was no communication whatsoever that this was changing.

I wasted a couple hours trying to figure out a solution including trying to rebuild my model in a new account from old downloaded models, before figuring out the workaround.

I’m having the same problem. Can’t open free version through app.sketchup.com. Trimble 3d image just stays like it’s nodding “NO” to me!

When I sign in (or try) here it comes up with “Bad Request: Invalid login session”

Which browser are you using? SketchUp works best with Chrome.

I’m using Chrome. Always have.

This is what I see on my account:

As posted above by @Gray , that should be irrelevant and probably the error you see has nothing to do with that. The free web version doesn’t require an active subscription.

Thanks but that doesn’t help me get back in to my account to see my models! Any other suggestions, as I have already tried deleting cookies to no effect.

“Bad Request: Invalid login session” usually means the URL you are on is not valid. Trimble ID sign in uses temporary and unique URLs to authorize your sign in session, so if you bookmark or return to that page at a later date it will no longer be valid. Even if you are prompted to sign in, it is effectively authorizing nothing. If you have any id.trimble.com pages bookmarked you will likely run into this. Instead, make sure you are going directly to the web app at app.sketchup.com
