Sketchup for schools not opening

Hi Everyone, I have a really snnoying small issue that I am unable to resolve at the moment and I am unsure how and can’t seem to fix it. I have a user that is trying to access students work that has been uploaded in Google classroom and when they click on the file and click on the open Sketchup for schools in google drive this does nothing and I have no idea why this is because it seems to me that everything is working.

I have cleared the cache and cookies on the account. I have also removed the connected website on the users account too but I am still not getting anywhere. Has anyone encountered this issue and know how to fix this problem as this is quote an urgent problem that I need resolving for someone.

We use Chrome in our school because we are a google school so we use the cloud version of SKetchup for schools.

Thanks for the @ to get my attention tweenulzeven. I just got to the office and have a meeting I need to prep for. For now, just sit tight and wait while I finish up my morning meetings. As soon as I am able to dig into this, I will.

Hi, I was just wondering if this is a casual bug in the web software not working with drive when you click on sketchup for schools?

@CaseyG I have done some additional work and changed some settings through Google admin console to pop ups and cookies and still hasn’t fixed anything. My next idea would be completely reinstalling the sketchup for schools for the whole site but I am not confident that this will fix the problem.

Understandably the teacher that raised the issue is sort of getting upset of this because they have to mark the students work and they are currently unable to.

Hi @d.cain, I am still working on getting you a solution for your problem. I am curious if opening the files in the app works or if that causes issues too. Can you let me know when you have a moment?

Hi @CaseyG The teacher has told me that they open in the app fine but it is just the opening it from Google classroom by pressing on the open with Sketchup for schools button that is causing the issue and not opening.

Thanks for the info @d.cain. That helps me narrow it down a lot! I figured that might be the case. I’ll see if I can get a better idea of when we may have a fix rolled out for that issue.

I am a teacher in S. California and I am having the same paroblem as the teacher in this thread.

Please help this problem doubles the time it takes to check student work.
