I have Sketchup 8 Free version 3.0.16846 installed on my computer and in the past I have used it for the following.
I worked for the ambulance service in the UK and did some design work on Patient Transport
Ambulances for which I used the program. The designs weren’t used as it turned out.
When I left the ambulance service I did some paid DIY work and I used the program to help with the design of a bathroom, and 2 garden fences which I did for customers.
I might also have used it for other jobs for which I would have been paid.
In the program EULA there is no mention of the program being for non-commercial use only as is the case for Sketchup Make.
In one of the first paragraphs it also mentions about business users.
I would be grateful if you could confirm if the uses I have outlined above were within the EULA and can I continue to use the program for commercial purposes if necessary.
I can’t provide legal guidance for you, but if this is the reason why you’re sticking with SU8, you might want to give some consideration to upgrading. Our last build of SU8 was almost ten years ago- quite a bit of development has happened since then!
No one here, including John can provide you with legal guidance regarding the EULA. Best thing is to get real legal counsel. Around here it would be less expensive to upgrade to SketchUp 2019 than to pay a lawyer to read and decipher the EULA for SU8.
