SketchUp 2026 will not install

Despite renewing my license at the end of November, trying multiple times to download and install, and contacting Trimble / SketchUp help desks, I have been spectacularly unsuccessful in being able to install and run the latest version of SketchUp. The items which I have purchased, i.e. SketchUp Pro are greyed out and when I try and install it all falls over. Can anyone help me?

hello, it says your scan essentials install file is corrupted, you could either :

  • delete the file itself you’ve been given the path to
  • uncheck scan essentials before installing (and even the two others as well if you don’t have a studio subscription)

sketchup for desktop is always greyed out as it is mandatory

Thanks Paul. I deleted a load of files from my PC and also tried it through Chrome rather than Firefox, and for some reason it has now worked without any problems?! Go figure.

for future reference, the classic PC installer still needs to download ressources while it installes, and sometimes, it can’t.
like in your case.

if it happens, there is an offline installer, it’s bigger, but it works.
