Hi,
I am looking into the feasibility of accurately surveying the topography and elevations of my property. Can anyway suggest the best hardware for surveying?
I would say a laser scanner attached to a professional surveyor.
How big is your site? That will likely help guide your decision? You could use photogrammetry and a drone + software such as DroneDeploy to read/edit/import it into SU.
Also, depending on your location, the data may already exist. For instance, here in Finland, the whole country has already been scanned from the air and the data can be downloaded for free from our National Survey, with a much more accurate new scan already in the making.
That’s amazing. Finland is relatively large too!
Canada just this week has released a more detailed replacement for it’s current CDEM dataset (30 m resolution)
Adam – a recent project comprising three low ceiling period cottages now a single dwelling with a number of ad-hoc rear extensions over the decades in about 1,800m² of land.
Anssi’s laser scanner attached to a professional surveyor – two quotes – was going to be £1770 or £2350.
I did it myself with a Disto D510 pro kit and was on site for much of the day.
