Your ship needs a little work but I like it. 
As usual, you’re absolutely right. I stuck with the built-in simple SketchUp colors and kept the boat itself simple as well. Here’s another variation on the same theme:
This is one of those projects where the modeling took less than a half-hour and the rendering took four hours. The glass version I left running overnight. Someday, I’m going to get me a real computer

What they in Germany call a “Besserwisser” in me makes me remark that the hull doesn’t seem to fit through the neck of the bottle…

It’s all a matter of the work flow. I built the ship first and then built the bottle around it.
