We share models with our clients by uploading them to Trimble Connect. Copy the shareable link, generate a QR code from it and stick both all over our construction issue documents. I have always tested each before releasing the documents, clicking the link in the .pdf on the desktop and scanning the QR code on my iPhone, to make sure both worked and opened the correct model. This workflow worked well for several years. The entire time, I had the SketchUp viewer app on my phone.
Then a few days ago on the first of two different jobs, the QR code stopped working. The Sketchup app would try to open on scanning the code then produce an error reading “Invalid Share The link for this model has expired or the URL is invalid”
Tried a few different things to fix it. What eventually worked was deleting the app from the iPhone. Now the QR codes open the shared model as per normal.
I probably won’t miss the app, but anyone else had the problem/know of it?
