Shadows from light bulb, interior lighting

Happy New Year Sketchies
Is there a way to cast shadows from a light bulb using native tool’s on iPad? or does this need an extension?
Does iPad do extensions?
Would the dome light method simulate accurate shadows?
I’m trying to work out accurate shadow lines from a light bulb without the suns influence. And enjoying SU for iPad on my new toy!
Thanks all

iPad can not run extensions. The only light sources in its renderer are at the camera and the sun. Sorry.

In addition, shadows can only be displayed from the sun.

BTW the same is true for desktop SketchUp. To get shadows from other light sources you need to use a real renderer.

Thanks Dave, Steve
I don’t do rendering. As an Infrastructure estimator I’ve had no need to render thus far.
So there’s no extension that can shed light on this? I guess that’s a fair bit of coding unless you have the SU sun shadow code to work with.
Would this tool not work well with diffusion, getting closer to not needing to go out to render ? Or at least be able to do some initial draft rendering in SU?
Maybe it’s time l started rendering. Any suggestions on a good starting point? my daughter has blender on her machine.
Thanks again, hope you’re all having a good holiday. .:+1:

No. And as Steve said, SketchUp for iPad can’t use extensions so even if there was one, you’d still not be able to use it.

What you are asking for is what rendering applications arew designed to do.

Diffusion isn’t a replacement for rendering applications.

You’ll likely need to move to a proper computer (desktop/laptop). There are a number of popular rendering applications out there. Look at Vray, Enscape, and others. Vray is included with a SketchUp Studio subscription.
