Confirming same issues with shadows in SketchUp web free (up to date) used with:
Time and Date boxes do not update with the sliders.
Direct numerical input doesn’t do anything to change the shadows. As if there is no connection at all.
Starting with 12:00 am on 01/01 in a new file after the app has been started new and changing the time for shadows triggers the “Submit Crash Report” which I did, also see:

Hi - just following up on this issue. Very disappointed, as there is still no response from a SketchUp Team Member in regards as to how this issue can be resolved. I use the shadowing tool extensively as an important part of my business (well, not lately anyway…) Looks like I’ll need to look at another product until this glitch has been fixed.
Sketchup free is not licensed for commercial use.

Helpful it wasn’t meant to be. You are complaining about a fault in the free version while publicly admiting that you are using it illegally for your work.

I can confirm this bug in Firefox, Yandex Browser, Google Chrome and Chromium on Linux Ubuntu 20.04
Maybe there is any workaround for it?
I highly recommend SketchUp Pro as a viable alternative. Shadows work perfectly and you’d be compliant with the licensing terms for commercial use.
Same problem here, i just tried it and immediatly ran into this issue. Looks to me they just removed it from the free version on purpose…
SketchUp Pro is standalone app or is extension for web version? Desktop standalone doesn’t work on my Ubuntu laptop 
…for Windows or for Mac.
There is no extension possible to install for web version of SU.
I’m using SketchUp pro in the web version and i have exactly the described issue. Will there be a fix soon?
Do you mean you are using SketchUp Shop?
I purchased SketchUp Pro (the educational license). since my OS is too old, i can not install sketchup on my computer, but i use the sketchup app in the browser. i’m not sure what sketchup shop is, but i am sure that i have pro features in the browser that i didn’t have in the free version (importing .dwg).
You must be using SketchUp Shop, then.
The time and date displays are currently not functional in the Web versions. The sliders do work, though. I expect we’ll see a fix for that as soon as they can get it fixed.
I have this same issue and would love to hear when it will be fixed.
Our situation is that we are working with an architect (who has the paid SketchUp version); we’re considering adding a room onto our house. It’ll be a sun-tempered space, so looking at the shadows and knowing the date/time is very important.
SketchUp folks… will this be fixed soon? If not, please provide an estimate for when it will work again; it used to work splendidly!
