OK - I have tried all the methods I can think of.
Specifically, I am trying to do a floor plan of my house model. When I apply the section cut, my wall cabinets are cut through, appearing as black blobs. The wall cabinets are not a model but just an extrusion representing them.
Any ideas or suggestions as to how to eliminate this problem?

Make sure the walls are grouped separately from the cabinets. Then open the wall group and put the section plane inside. It’ll only cut the walls and not the cabinets.
Not walls and cabinets but the same idea. The valve body, the piece on top of it, and the nut are grouped together and the section plane is placed inside so it doesn’t cut any of the other components in the model.
We Tag the Upper Cabinets and/or Shelves separately and turn them off in plan views, and then we have a 2D layer that we draw the outline of the Cabinets or Shelves above and that tag is dashed.
