Im trying to design scaffolds for my business. These arent proper designs just rough ideas how to build for my employees etc
I have the ringlock components but i am finding it hard to match the components in correctly. There are certain holes were the ledgers and transoms go and they seem.offset and dont match up. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have designed scaffold systems in SketchUp. Make sure you have a clean scaffold file with a balanced bounding box on the components so you can use corner and center snaps effectively. Make sure the dimensions are correct so you can type in moves, and use inference locking and copy/move arrays to help build. Example: single level set with floor boards, copy/move with blue arrow for vertical lock, type in level height ie 7.5 feet, then type x5 for five more levels. Arrays are your friend.
Snaps take a while to set up initially but can make the work very fast.
As a newbie i gave it my best go but its no mean feat.
Snap worked alot better with a few adjustments and making a having to make each back individually. Copy. Past etc instead of duplicating it many times.
Also finding it hard to get the boards on the bays and the next lift to line up correctly
Seen some videos on older versions were they group components together and x6 and works out nicely
You could benefit yourself by spending some time at The SketchUp Campus. This is a site that will provide the basics for learning the SketchUp modeling process. Also, spend some time at the SketchUp SketchUp YouTube site. It provides much information including how to use each tool.
