Rhino obj import to sketchup

I’m collaborating with an architecture firm on a project and want to use their 3D model of the structures to incorporate into my landscape design. I reached out and they were super nice and sent me the obj, but they use rhino not sketchup. I’m able to import no problem (I’m using skimp, maybe obj importer is better?) The issue I’m having is that I have this awesome model and no textures or materials. I can of course go in and do it myself, but I’m wondering if there is a faster way.

TIA

OBJ files don’t contain textures - normally those would be as seperate files outside of it.
You’d need for them to send all of the textures that they have used, if you keep them alongside the OBJ, then I imagine they would pull through into Skimp.

I’ll give that a shot. Thanks for the tip!

You could ask them to save their model as a SketchUp file directly. There is no need to use an intermediary file format.
