Hello, I am struggling to convey elevation/section views I have drawn, of a mostly complete townhome remodel. Part of the job involves moving an exterior wall out, about 3’ to align with an outside corner which is part of an alcove created by the 2nd floor above.
Does anyone have any advice as to where I might get someone to review what I have so far? Not necessarily from here. I could pay a small fee, but this drawing doesn’t pay very much.
There is a connected outside storage room that complicates the view…maybe I’m over thinking this. It’s a building permit drawing so it only needs the minimum amount of detail that works. I hope perhaps this generates some curiosity…maybe.
What is exactly are you hoping to gain from an outside review? Is it on modeling technique? LayOut documentation? Meeting code? If it’s design, modeling or drafting in nature, there is plenty of talent and experience in this forum to help provide guidance. If it’s policy or construction-related within your municipality, it may be better to find someone local who is familiar with local laws and codes.
Thanks for responding. It modeling technique…moreover I would say how to convey…how to draw the moved exterior walls with more information than can be shown with a crowded floor plan view I guess.
It’s not knowing if I should try and show the old wall being removed and the proposed new walls with 2 sections from 2 different views with a total of 4 sections? Some sort of Isometric detail view?
I would like to show the drawing to someone willing to offer suggestions, I don’t really want to post the layout drawing for all the forum to critique.
Feel free to DM me with what you have so far and if I have any suggestions I can reply to you there. Posting to the forum may come with some unwanted feedback but it could get you more or better comments than just I would provide. Trade offs for sure.
