QR code from Connect

Happy to share I have just published my second extension, QR code from Connect.

When drawings are actually printed and on site, it might very well be that that actual drawing is updated without noted. When you are a stakeholder of a CDE solution like Trimble Connect, adding a QR-code on the drawing will give you the ability to use your phone or tablet to check if the drawing that is on site is current or not. That 's because this QR-code will navigate to the latest version, no matter how many uploads or versions there have been. The (2D) drawings, like .pdf or .dwg or 3D Models like IFC, SKP, TRB, RVT etc. have to be uploaded once to get the file id. After that, you can create a scrapbook with the projects name and each file will save a separate page with the QR-code image. Once you add the folder where it generates the scrapbooks in LayOut, you can easily drag and drop the images in your document. This extension is merely meant as an introduction of the Trimble Connect API inside SketchUp’s Universe. Along with the LayOut API, it can be a source of new, powerful extensions!

DisclAImer
This extension was built with AI, various agents during a long process of ups and down. After watching a keynote yesterday by one of SketchUp team, I totally understood why we have to treat AI agents as young teenagers and be parenting them to fully grow up:)

If you have any more ideas, please share them.
