Dear sketchup team,
I really need the extensions for the Thudio plugin on the SketchUp iPad app to improve my workflow and productivity. I would appreciate it if you could consider adding support for these extensions in the mobile version.
Thank you very much for the attention

I believe that rules of the Apple App Store prevent apps from having user-installed add-ons. They only allow for-pay enabling of features that are already there.

If iPad had extensions and Layout it would become a real professional tool, for now iPad is ok for fast sketching and mostly to show your clients the 3D model from a super mobile device.
Firstly, before I rant in OP’s feature request thread, is Thudio something you can use on a computer to download items into a drive or Google folder? I know its one more step, but honestly the more useful solution might be if Thudio were to create an actual Thudio iPad app? Then iPad’s drag across multi screen function would probably work really well!
Now for my rant.
iPad has plenty of apps that can be used alongside SketchUp to keep a workflow moving and professional. We have to remember that even the base version of desktop is considered to be finished and useable product. The purpose of extensions is to adapt the base product to better suit a person’s personal workflow. One user might use truebend every single day, but I just model the staircase railing right there with native tools because I don’t need to do that kind of thing every day and I understand how to actually use the program. Are there some “base” features missing? Of course! The program is only a few years old! Look at how far it’s come in just that time!
I use iPad exclusively, professionally. There are apps such as Morpholio and procreate, canvas, BIMx, sketchbook, magicplan…. It has lidar right in it, and there are even very basic apps of all the programs people seem to want to compare SketchUp to that at least allow viewing of models from those programs.
I prefer the iPad for my professional work BECAUSE of what other users assume are limited functions.
I am a unique individual, capable of allowing my personal viewpoints to shine through my drafting. I embrace the pen lines and the emotion that comes from being allowed to draw right on my models (which can be just as straight-laced and precise and emotionless as anyone else’s). I have worked with many different types of people, looking for many different types of finished product and in the years of using sketchup iPad I have yet to have a client be displeased in any way with the drafting.
It really bothers me that so many people outright dismiss iPad as unworthy just because they lack the imagination or desire to be artists in field that really used to be full of just that! Unique artists who were hired for their unique viewpoints in a world dominated by gray boxes.
you can be professional with iPad. Just allow yourself to experiment with complimentary apps, open your mind and go back to the days when a drafter’s actual hands made the lines on the paper and some of their wonderful personality ebbed it’s way into their finished product.
