How do I cut the grass in the format of the green floor? I got each grass square from warehouse an put them all together thinking in place on the face of the green floor and then cutting it in the same format. I searched in the forum, chatgpt, youtube, tried grouping, intersecting selection, copy in place and everything i saw but nothing worked.
And do you need those squares of grass for anything in particular? What’s special about them?

Can you use the paint bucket tool and apply the grass material to your green floor area?
Just found a better way. Thank You! just started learning yesterday ![]()
Just did this, thank you
. I’m taking a course where the guy teaches this but i’d prefer the squares because it would be exacly what i’d put in my house but the grass works. Thanks guys
If you select all the squares and the green floor area, right click, and lick “Explode”, you then should be able to delete the unwanted lines.
If you want to do that you would need to give those squares of grass some thickness just like they’d have in reality. Faces in SketchUp have no thickness.
Exploding the squares would just merge that geometry with the underlying geometry but then you would have a bunch of added work erasing the unwanted edges. Less work to just apply the texture to the original face insitead.
You could draw a shape outside your grass area that encloses the part to cut away and follows the edge of the part you want to retain, then select both and find intersect. then remove the portions outside the retaining area.
