Exiting the pencil tool with the ECS key was fine until yesterday, but now it works only intermittently or not at all. Nothing is selected in the model.
Any ideas?
Try rebooting your computer.
Any changes between then and now?
The ESC key has never exited the tool. It always has reset the tool to it’s initial state (which is the prompt for the first vertex of an edge to be drawn.)
You’ve perhaps worn out the switch beneath the key ? Try another keyboard to test this theory.
After a reboot the key works fine for a while and then starts acting up again intermittently. The key is fine–it works perfectly for other applications (including other tools).
