Page tabs in Layout

I think a lot of people would like LO to work as much like SU as possible. With that in mind, here is a suggestion.

What about having tabs for pages instead of it being in a sidebar? That would make it like scenes in SU and release much needed real estate in the sidebar.

Maybe like this?

You can already do that in LayOut on Windows, anyway. The feature has been around since nearly the beginning.

New Window in the Window menu.

Personally I rely on the Pages view to build my documents as my numbering system is now consistent.

Maybe we could have Tabs ‘as well’ rather than instead of

Yeah, on Mac it seems that we can have tabs for multiple documents open, but don’t have tabs for pages the way SketchUp has them for scenes. No obvious reason why it was done that way, but maybe it will be changed when/if the Mac version gets ported to Qt to share GUI code with the Windows version.

Yes, exactly like that.

Seems like it’s a Mac thing…

The flip side (on Mac)… I have a lot of Scenes and Pages.

In LO the Pages tray works for me, but collapsible folders would be a nice addition together with the ability to change the page numbers (and not rely on Autotext which needs to run renumber, which is easily overlooked).

In SU the Scenes tabs don’t work for me due to quantity; they become small and unreadable. I have tried to remove the Tabs but they keep re-appearing. I do like the drop down list at the end of the tab bar, which would be even better if the search value was persistent.

No reason why page numbering need be affected. But I agree with having the option of either/or.
